Microchipping

A microchip can provide a lifetime of permanent identification if your dog gets lost.

Each year, millions of pets go missing and never make their way home, our team at Riverview want your pets to get home to you. Microchipping is one of the newest ways to ensure your pet is returned to you should they get lost.

Why is it important to ensure my dog is microchipped?

Ensuring your pet has ID is the best way to have a happy ending should your pet get lost. Often times we put collars with tags on our pets, but what happens if these get lost? Microchipping is fast, easy and a permanent means of ensuring your pet doesn’t stay lost for long. Each time a stray pet is brought into Riverview Animal Hospital, we check to see if they have a microchip. If they do, we can track down their owners and get them home safe and sound. If you would like to know more about microchipping our team can help.

How does a microchip work and is it safe?

Microchips are a small chip that is inserted under the skin, between the shoulder blades. It is a very safe procedure and can be done when you are in for an appointment, or often times, owners elect to do the procedure when their pet is being spayed or neutered.

How much does it cost to microchip a dog?

Microchipping is a very cost-effective way to ensure your pet’s safety. Please contact us so we can give you a quote 506-387-4015.
